Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that deals with teeth that are abnormally positioned. This is referred to as a malocclusion.  There is most often a genetic component to malocclusion, which makes treatment controversial. We only move teeth if there is a functional benefit or pain that can be resolved.  In general, animals who undergo orthodontic treatment should not be used for breeding.
